Key brands back and even bigger at Glee 2010

Building on the success of last year’s Glee, many leading garden and leisure brands have confirmed that they will be returning to Glee 2010 with expanded stand spaces and bigger plans than in previous years.  Many more have also rebooked after a successful Glee 2009, and even more key names are set to return having missed last year’s show.

Key brands such as Gardman, Bosmere, Handy Distribution, Dutch Imports, Fallen Fruits, Norfolk Leisure, Rondeau Leisure and Bonnington Plastics are just some of the suppliers that have all confirmed their attendance at September’s show (20-22 September, NEC Birmingham), with stand expansion ranging from 50sq m to a huge 200sq m of extra space.

Bosmere, the leading supplier of garden care accessories is one of those that has increased its presence at the show.  Tony Dedman, CEO of Bosmere explains: “Glee is the key event for us.  We’ve been attending since we began 30 years ago and we intend to keep returning year after year!  Last year we launched over 100 new products at the show and our stand was packed full of customers new and old throughout all three days of the show.  We’re looking to build on this success by adding an additional 100m to our stand for this year so we can launch even more products to the market, as well as offering more space for a breakout area for customers and meetings.”

Key brands returning to Glee having missed last year’s show include Tenax, Graf Limited, Bramblecrest, Whitefurze, Jonart and Grakka; whilst companies rebooked after a successful Glee 2009 include Burgon & Ball, Town & Country, Westland, Fiskars, The Stewart Company, Briars, Taylors Bulbs, M & M Timber, Kelkay, Woodlodge and Draper Tools.

Daniel Thurlow, Glee show director
said: “We are delighted to see so many brands returning in 2010.  We want suppliers to use Glee to its full potential and in a way appropriate to their business needs, which is why we don’t cap anyone’s stand size at Glee.  The show is a great opportunity to present wide ranges of product and merchandising ideas to an audience of engaged buyers.  The fact that many are increasing their presence with us is a positive sign for the industry. It shows confidence for the year and is a genuine endorsement of Glee.”

He added: “We are working hard to ensure we’re bringing critical mass, absent brands and even more innovation back to Glee.  This is the event that will continue to offer something that cannot be seen anywhere else.  We’ve got an exciting year ahead and I look forward to welcoming hundreds of exhibitors to the show during 2010.”
