Glee works with the Garden Centre Association to bring buyers and sellers together

The UK’s leading national garden and leisure trade exhibition, Glee, will be sponsoring the Garden Centre Association (GCA)’s Associates Night reception on the first evening of its Annual Conference.

Taking place on 25th January 2010 at the Marriot Forest of Arden Hotel, Warwickshire, the GCA’s Associates Night will bring together associate members and full member delegates for a two-hour networking reception and dinner following the first day of the Conference.  Glee’s sponsorship continues their commitment to explore ways of building on their relationship with the Association’s garden centre members, and harnessing their feedback for the future continued enhancement of the show.

Gillie Westwood, chief executive of the GCA, said:  “We are delighted that Glee will be sponsoring our Associates Night; it’s a good opportunity for all of us and promises to be an excellent networking evening.  A huge number of GCA members go to Glee each year – the timing is good, it offers excellent buying opportunities and all the members I have spoken to are very much supporters of the show.  We want to support Glee, and we’re delighted it is supporting our Conference.”

Glee show director, Daniel Thurlow, confirmed: “Glee’s sponsorship of the GCA Associates Night is part of our aim to build an even closer, mutually helpful relationship between Glee and the GCA.  Like the Associates Night, Glee is all about bringing buyers and sellers together; indeed relationships that are forged at the conference can be taken forward and cemented at Glee.  We want to continue to listen closely to the views of GCA members, to sound out their wish-lists, and take their advice to ensure that Glee continues to meet their needs as fully as possible.”

The GCA Annual Conference (25 – 27 January 2010) will address how garden centres can raise the bar on aspects such as garden centre branding, catering and the environment; and will include the input of heavyweight speakers such as environmentalist Jonathon Porritt, business leader Lord Digby Jones and shoe retailer James Timpson.
