David Codling is Chairman of Hozelock Group Limited, the UK’s leading manufacturer of garden watering, spraying and pond equipment products, with sales approaching £100m.  The Hozelock business is internationally focussed with sales to over 60 countries worldwide and approximately two-thirds of the turnover is generated overseas, mainly in Continental Europe.

Unusually, Hozelock has been through two management buy-outs, with a period of 5 years in-between as a public company listed on the London Stock Exchange.

David has been with Hozelock since 1979 and has been involved on the Glee Board since the mid-1980’s, including being Chairman of the Steering Committee on two separate occasions. Indeed, Hozelock have exhibited at every Glee show since it’s inception in 1976.

David has travelled extensively over the years, supporting and extending Hozelock’s international business and has been actively involved with Gardenex since the early 1980’s.

David is married to Debbie and has three sons (all in their twenties) and in his spare time (!) enjoys spending time in his garden in Coleshill, Buckinghamshire (although not necessarily gardening!), classic cars, travel (which normally incorporates good food and wine) and the occasional game of golf. He has also been known to cycle from time to time, having once ridden from Marseilles to Rome in five days to raise money for a local hospice charity!
