Fathering Sunday with the Glee Team

14 Jun 2019

Father’s Day in the UK is all about Dad’s putting their feet up, relaxing and getting the appreciation they deserve! With Father’s Day 2019 just around the corner, we thought we’d take the time to speak to a couple of the ‘Glee Dads’ and find out what they’re up to this Sunday, who they’re lucky enough to be spending the day with and what their ideal Father’s Day gifts entail.

Daniel Mcaplin, Commercial Manager.

Tell us about your children?

I have two beautiful children, Bonnie is 5, she is very caring and loving and enjoys arts and crafts! Then Thomas is 2 and very cheeky! Always smiling and loves sport, especially football.

How will you be celebrating with the family this year?

We will be celebrating with a Father’s Day breakfast and then a BBQ in the afternoon with family… maybe a few drinks.

What is the best Father’s Day gift/card you’ve received?

I received a Father’s Day card that my daughter Bonnie made at school, with lovely words inside.

What would be your ideal Father’s Day gift this year?

I would absolutely love a New Golf bag! 😉

Tell us about your children?

I have twin boys, Charlie and Thomas, they are 12 years old.

I would describe them as having their mothers looks and their father’s cheekiness, which has got them in and out of trouble a fair few times.

How will you be celebrating with the family this year?

We have just spent time making the garden looking nice for the summer weekends, with the plants looking in fine form at the moment, it will be nice to sit in the garden and chill (weather permitting of course).

The boys like to make sure that their Dad gets the BBQ out, cook some burgers or chicken skewers, and the chef gets a few beers to make the cooking more entertaining.

What is the best Father’s Day gift/card you’ve received?

The boys are often directed by their mum with what to buy.

I’ve had a range gifts in the past including pint glasses, wallets and the odd bottle of something alcoholic, there is always something nice to pick in the farm shop of our local garden centre.

What would be your ideal Father’s Day gift this year?

The ideal present this year would be a firepit to cook something slightly different and something relaxing like a swing chair to fall asleep on!!!

James Kenton, Account Manager.

Tell us about your children?

Chloe is 8 years old and Dexter is 6.

Chloe is well behaved most of the time, with tendency to wind up her brother.

Dexter is a rascal and behaves some of the time, although he is in equal measure a loving, cheeky little chap. 😊

How will you be celebrating with the family this year?
We will be utilising our new extension by spending a lot of time at home, we are loving our new space.  (We are also looking to invest in a weber bowl BBQ and invite family and friends round to show off!).

What is the best Father’s Day gift/card you’ve received?

Handmade by my kids is always the best card, straight from the heart is always best.

What would be your ideal Father’s Day gift this year?

Similar cards and hopefully a new shirt that fits well. Although anything that suits our new kitchen will work too!
