The Barking Bakery was founded in 2014 by Michelle. The inspiration behind the Barking Bakery came from trying to find a special treat that was good enough to give her dog Spot but there was nothing on the supermarket shelves apart from the usual dental chews and pigs ears that you see so many of. She went about baking for her beloved Spot and he thoroughly enjoyed the samples and sat patiently when the mixing bowl came out knowing that there was to be a new surprise to try.
After perfecting the ingredients to give her woofins a shelf life she went on to get DEFRA approval. Now some 2 years on and after winning her first award for New business of the year last September, the company is going from strength to strength.
