• People are living longer and, by 2050, a quarter of those in the UK will be over 65 1 

• Millions of older people are worried about falling, with 4.3 million (36%) listing it as their top concern. This fear, shared by those with limited mobility, often leads to a reluctance to go outside, less time spent in the garden, and increased frailty.2 

• Studies show that one in three over 65s have at least one fall a year, however the risk of falls increases to one in two for people aged over 80.  3
