Tears of joy for Hownd at Pawexpo
Hownd’s Banana Facial & Natural Tear Stain Treatment has been voted Best Pet Product in the Glee New Product Awards at Pawexpo yesterday (Wednesday).
The awards took place as part of the two-day virtual Glee Gathering this week, with four shortlisted products pitched by their companies to a panel of judges.
The shortlist had been selected from products submitted by Glee Gathering exhibitors for this first virtual version of the annual Glee New Product Awards.
This year’s judging panel was: Andy Bunker - Alton Garden Centre; Roger Crookes - Garden Centre Consultant; Nicola Pugh - Pughs Garden Centres; Tom Grinell - Blue Diamond Garden Centres; Mel Livingstone - Fron Goch Garden Centre; and Ian Hodgson - Garden News. Trevor Pfeiffer from Garden Trade News chaired the pitching sessions.
The judges said they felt the Hownd range would sell really well in garden centres. The product is a 2-in-1 face scrub and pH-balanced stain treatment to remove dirt and discolorations.
It uses ingredients extracted from sacred lotus, evening primrose flower, ginseng root and oat extracts as well as a vegan alternative to keratin and botanical extracts to promote healthy hair growth – and smells of bananas.
