Eco Slow-Feeding Ramial Mulch is a naturally composted mulch made from 100% pure, untreated ramial willow wood chips which have been matured for a minimum of 12–24 months.

The willow is grown and farmed in the UK, then composted to maturity to form a stable humus that’s packed with healthy fungi, microbes and organic compounds which are gradually released into the soil. This creates the perfect nutrient-rich, slow-feeding plant mulch that improves soil quality, encourages earthworms and sustains healthy plant life. It is naturally free of resins and other compounds toxic to plants, and won’t acidify the soil or deplete nitrogen levels.

What's so special about ramial chipped willow wood?

Unlike regular mulches, our slow-feeding mulch is made from ramial chipped willow wood. Ramial willow chips come from fresh, young tree branches which contain the highest concentration of nutrients – rich in minerals, amino acids, proteins, phytohormones and enzymes.

When used as a mulch, ramial chipped willow can stimulate microbial activity and activate biological processes to help improve soil structure, boost fertility, and enhance plant growth over time. It is naturally free of resins and other organic compounds toxic to plants, and won’t acidify the soil.

This slow-feeding ramial mulch has been composted (matured like a fine whiskey!) to kickstart the natural decomposition process, making all the nutrients, fungi and microbes readily available to nourish your soil and nurture your plants from day one.
