Usage Guide
Before you start-
Make sure the surface to be treated is clean and free from mould, fungal growth and any coatings that may interfere with the penetration of Thompson's Water seal, by brushing first with a stiff bristle brush (not wire). Carry out any repairs and fill any surface cracks prior to treatment. Thompson's Water Seal can be applied to dry and damp (not saturated surfaces).
Application-
Shake the tin well for 30 seconds to ensure the active component is in solution prior to pouring the product for application. Apply using a brush or roller. When you’re applying, work in 1m sections from the bottom upwards. Once an area is fully saturated move onto the next section. To avoid repellence of the second coat recoat within 1 hour. Make sure you also coat mortar lines. Make sure you treat the whole wall and not just isolated areas. Use at full strength, do not dilute.
Aftercare-
To maintain water repellency periodic retreatment will be required. The frequency of retreatment will vary with the type, nature and exposure of treated surfaces, as well as prevailing weather conditions.
