World’s largest flower show

The RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival, open until Saturday 9 July 2022, has a sheer variety of gardens dazzling with their innovative ideas, beautiful plants and detailed landscapes. One of the gold medal winners is designer Matthew Childs with his “Over the Wall Garden” supported by Takeda.

It features a blue circular walled garden with a vibrant orange moon gate with structural evergreens and a smooth curving path. Many other inspirational gardens are on display at the show, so it’s good to give yourself plenty of time to appreciate all the festival has to offer.

If you love roses, don’t miss the Festival of Roses, a whole space dedicated to these popular flowers, featuring a wide range of rose varieties, where you can indulge in a proper afternoon tea.

New for 2022 is the possibility of visiting the show by twilight. You can enjoy an evening of music and food on Friday 8 July 2022, with live music, talks and a floral makeover throughout the evening.

Bear in mind each day offers a rich programme of talks, demonstrations and music across the festival during the day. These happen in different locations, from the Get Growing Festival Stage to the Market Theatre.

There’s also a new Food Zone with artisan food and drink, where you’re invited to explore the wonderful world of grow-your-own. This is the place to be to learn more about growing your own fruit and vegetables at home.

We also recommend the Floral Marquee, a vast space bursting with plenty of traditional favourites, colourful displays and take-home ideas. The orchids are extremely beautiful, and you can also find exquisite indoor Bonsai trees and a Japanese style garden, if you’re drawn to more exotic landscapes.
