David Domoney

Chartered Horticulturist and Celebrity Gardener

David Domoney is a Chartered Horticulturalist and broadcaster. He has presented on many national television shows over the past 25 years. He is the author of two best-selling books on plants and their profiles. He has been awarded 35 RHS medals, including Chelsea golds. In 2018, David was selected by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward, to receive the Award of Excellence in Horticulture.

David sits as a Fellow of the London Colleges of Horticulture at Capel Manor, a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture, a Fellow of the Warwickshire Colleges of Horticulture, and a Fellow of the Linnean Society.

He writes a weekly double-page gardening spread in the Saturday Daily Mirror and the Saturday Daily Express. His combined social media following is over 1.2 million. David is a strong campaigner for positive mental and physical wellbeing through engagement with plants and nature. He is the Ambassador for the Chartered Institute of Horticulture, Patron of Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Patron of Pollinating London Together, Patron of Greenfingers, Patron of Air Ambulances UK, Ambassador for the RSPB, and Ambassador for the horticultural therapy charity ‘Thrive’, which helps those living with disability through social and therapeutic horticulture.

David set up the national campaign for community gardening, Cultivation Street, which has run for over a decade as a valuable resource for community projects, children’s gardening, and gardening for better health.
